Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mempresentasikan karakteristik Injil Matius dalam menggambarkan Yesus sebagai Mesias Penyembuh yang membedakan Yesus dari magician pada zamanNya. Penyembuhan yang dilakukan Yesus adalah untuk menggenapi nubuatan Perjanjian Lama tentang kedatangan Mesias. Penulis menggunakan metode tafsir kritik redaksi dalam menganalisa susunan Injil Matius serta dua perikop terkait mujizat penyembuhan. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, pertama-tama penulis memaparkan kesatuan antara pengajaran dan penyembuhan Yesus dalam Injil Matius dimana hal ini tidak ditemukan dalam praktek penyembuhan di dunia Yunani Romawi. Selanjutnya, penulis menganalisa penyembuhan perempuan yang pendarahan dua belas tahun dalam Matius 9:20-22 dan penyembuhan anak perempuan Kanaan dalam Matius 15:21-28. Dalam kedua narasi tersebut Matius meredaksi materi yang diperolehnya dari Markus dengan mengurangi unsur-unsur magisnya untuk menghadirkan Yesus sebagai Mesias.
